The Problem with "Mobile-First" Operating Systems

Android was built for smartphones. It is an incredibly powerful and versatile OS, but its architecture is fundamentally "heavy."

This is not because the TV's hardware has degraded; it is because the OS has become bloated with cached data, heavier app updates, and background processes fighting for limited RAM.

Unlike Android TV, Whale OS is built natively on Linux and designed specifically for televisions from day one. It does not carry the baggage of a mobile operating system trying to adapt to a 65-inch screen.
